What is Online Coaching/Counseling?

Online therapy is the delivery of mental health counseling via the Internet.

People also know it as e-therapy, distance therapy, Internet therapy and web therapy. Online Counselors use a variety of technology such as apps for texting, video chatting, Instant Messaging Chat, and email.

The use of technology to work with individuals who are needing to work through depression, anxiety, grief, chronic suicide ideation, emotional crisis, parenting challenges, relationship issues, and helping a family member or friend deal with a mental illness, awakened in my passion and vision in 2014.

We use the Internet to shop better, learn better, and work better; isn’t it time we start using the Internet to make mental and emotional health care more accessible?

I believe that human-to-human help cannot – and should not – be replaced by automated technology. Instead, we are leveraging new technologies to adapt traditional counseling into the lifestyle and expectations of today’s mental health consumers.

How Does It Work?

The site is HIPPA compliant, and once registered, all email communication is done in the virtual office. In addition, session notes, Worksheet and Resource download is available in the secure site, and you are provided a Journal that you can right in during your work that Dr. Mike can follow and have a deeper understanding of what you are emotionally facing.

You schedule your session online and pick either Online Video or Instant Message Chat Counseling, or by a Phone Session. You never have to call Dr. Mike to schedule or cancel your session because he is notified through email regardingscreen-shot-2016-12-03-at-11-20-11-am the details of your session (the full access the Chat and Video Feature of the Secure iCounseling Session, you must us a laptop or desktop. You can use your Smartphone for Text Counseling from another platform).

When it is time for your session to begin, login with your username and password, and click the button, “Start the Chat.” Instantly, you will be involved in your private, in-home, counseling session with Dr. Mike.

How Much Does it Cost?

For $60 a week (paid before each session), you will receive two 50-minute sessions (this Introductory Price will change soon-Get locked in now) (to be completed within 7 days) which includes, unlimited secure email, texts, and journal entries and responses (only for 7 days following your session), a counselor who proactively checks in to see how you are doing between sessions, and connects with you during difficult and stress events or crises during your life, as well as, a HIPPA Compliant secure Web Platform to enter and receive feedback on Journal entries, and a Virtual Counseling Office with your own “filing cabinet” for assessments, “cheat sheets,” worksheets, EBooks, and resources to help you develop Life Coping Skills, and to heal emotionally.

 

For a Limited Time, Dr. Mike is providing Text Counseling Exclusively for $25 a week. The Counseling Conversation takes place only through Text, and not within a session but as an Ongoing Dialogue and you are Charged every 7 days and can stop the Text Counseling at any time.

What is my Method of Counseling?

My work is done using Brief Short-Term Solution-Focused Counsel, with Psych-Educational Coping Skills Development, via Online Chat.

Especially with the emergence of positive psychology and increased research and attention to wellness, the focus on happiness and subjective well-being are central to the lives of many. Wellness in the workplace is also increasingly a focus for companies, wanting to keep their employees productive and happy.

As mental health practitioners, we have a responsibility to know and use resources for wellness. This focus has become more mainstream with the advent of the Positive Psychology movement, which dovetails very nicely with more traditional models of the counseling field, such a DBT, and CBT.

The focus on wellness is made much easier with the many resources available on the internet. Self-improvement and wellness have now intersected with mental health in a way like never before.
